Where are the reviews?

I sent a very informal survey out to folks whose email addresses I could find in my gmail account. I asked what reviews they know about that are going on around town. I’ll post and edit the results in this post from time to time as I get more information.

Hudson still has a long term review going on at their offices downtown that is still, I believe, taking up two shifts. As far as I know there are around 40-50 on this review, but I’ll take corrections on that.

Huron usually has several reviews going on at any one time, and someone heard of a review potentially about to start up there. Let’s say that there are 50 people over there.

Fulbright has several reviews going on. Only a couple can be termed “long term” and those are very small. There are a total of 40 to 50 working on reviews there from Pye Legal, Hudson, Providus and a couple from LegalPeople

Jones Day apparently has a review with around 30 people on it. Think that one is Providus

There’s supposedly a Galleria Area review of about 30 people.

Let me know what I got wrong and what I missed!

Great blog! Thanks for the effort. Good survey. However, I believe the Galleria Area review and the Jones Day review are the same.

Great site and I believe that the Galleria Area project is the one ran by Huron Consulting through its local recruiting agency, Synergy Legal Professionals.

That one is about 50 people strong.

Also, there is another project soon to start by New Law Inc Legal.

Just add my intel to the list.

P.S. Denovo Legal also runs like 2-3 small review projects with troop strength about 20-50 people strong per project.

Just curious. In listing the document reviews, was any differentiation made as to reviews conducted by attorneys vs. paralegals? With some quick and dirty addition, I see listed projects employing approximately 200 contract attorneys- including the additions by Duke commander. Does that seem reasonable to everyone? I’ve heard Huron pays very low. Are they using paralegals? or paying paralegal pay to whomever works on the project?

This just in. The Huron facility, at 750 Bering near the Galleria, has the capacity to hold 137 reviewers. Current projects run from days to years. They are not at full capacity at this time.

I only listed attorney reviews as far as I know. I’m curious what the difference in pay would be (if any) between attorney and paralegal since I know that there are a few attorney review projects that start in the $20’s.

Haven’t heard any specifics on the “De Novo” facility or projects. Does anyone know anyone who has used that facility? De Novo is at 708 Main St., Downtown.

Also, last year, Hire Counsel was telling me that they had put together a “Turn Key” document review facility near the West Loop 610. The person who was talking to me about this is no longer there, and I can’t find anything about it on their website, so those plans may have been scuttled…

Thank you for your interest in the document review project. We are currently still waiting to hear back from our client that we were initially developing a review team for. However, we have been approached by another client who expects to have long term work in the next few weeks; but the pay rate is $20/hour. If you are interested in being submitted for this project please respond to this e-mail or contact me at 713.353.4627. I look forward to hearing back from you.

The Legal Placement Pimps continue to treat us like low life street whores. Personally, I would rather wait tables or do odd jobs than accept positions like this.

Does anyone know if the common source posting at monster is just another fishing expedition, or do they really have a project?

  8. admin Says:

I would think it’s legit. They only have two postings, one in Austin and one in Houston, but I don’t know who the project would be with.

I’ve never worked with Common Source, but I’d be glad to hear from anyone who has.
