Hey, if $29 was a little too rich for your blood, and you didn’t quite think you could handle making $28 by driving over to Dallas, now you finally have a chance to make only $25, and you get to drive all the way to Oklahoma to do it!!!
Just give David Ethridge at Hudson a call, and he’ll set you up!

You’re probably too late to get on the latest Special Counsel (Prescott) project, starting later this week, but David over at Hudson just sent out a call for people who can work in Austin starting tomorrow for $29 per hour. Don’t like the rate at all. Do NOT like the fact that more rates are going under $30.
UPDATE
Hudson now has a $28 project in Dallas. Preference to those who have reviewed financial documents. Also, don’t bother applying if you haven’t used Concordance…I have to wonder why that really matters. Is there really any review platform so complex at the doc review level that experience makes a difference 2 days into a review on review rates or accuracy? I don’t think so.

This Law.Com article about legal marketing using social networking says to start off with LinkedIn and try others after that. I did get one interesting job suggestion off of LinkedIn one time, but not much after that. I do find it useful for networking and finding people to talk with, but I’m curious whether anyone else has seen a lot of positive or negative out of it for the contract lawyer in particular, as opposed to law firm or in-house types.

You may just want to type “de novo” into the little search window over there on the right and read up on what’s been happening over there before you send in your resume. But, someone’s gotta work there, so I figured I’d post it!
As always, all the contact info is over on the right. For some reason, Susan Parrett is helping Aimee and Bonita out with getting this one together…

So far, I’ve heard that Donovan Watkins has around 12 people working at their office in the Galleria, plus a few up in the Woodlands on a paper review project. There’s a small project ongoing at V&E. Two small projects at the Providus office. De Novo’s remaining project will shut down soon. There was a bit of a false start there recently, gearing up for a project that got cancelled when they had a better look at the data.
Did hear a hint that there may be another wage case cropping up, but no clue if it will land in Houston. Also, some people are getting calls about a couple of projects at firms, one asking for DOJ Second Request experience.
Please correct me if I’m wrong, and keep the info coming. I’ll put whatever I find up here so we can try to have an idea about the level of activity.

Providus had a flash in the pan project that got up to 45 or so reviewers for a couple of weeks.
Fulbright started a project using Hudson a week or so ago.
At least one of De Novo’s projects wound down. They have some clean-up work going on over there still.
Does anyone out there have any info on projects starting up or winding down.

Send me an email if you’re in Houston and can do a little contract work this Sunday and some this week.

UPDATE - Thanks, I did get some responses to this, but I do need to let you know that I am not a part of a staffing agency. I’m an attorney who works in ediscovery and doc review, and keeps track of the document review market in Houston. Don’t need more resumes!

So, De Novo has their shop back up and running for a little while. Hope they can keep themselves off Tom the Temp’s site for a while. Never a good idea to show up on the receiving end of that set of commentators. This project looks pretty short lived, but you never know.

At least there’s a trickle of work in Houston:
Providus is seeking contract attorneys and paralegals with construction litigation experience for an immediate document review. MUST have prior electronic review experience and construction litigation experience. Minimum-hour requirements for this project are 40 hours per week. Excellent pay rate! Please apply online at
http://eresume.providusgroup.com and reference job EDR.
